Line dancers entertain Elphin Lodge residents

This year, the show group was supplemented by some dancers from the beginners’ class, which only started in April this year.

The hall at Elphin Lodge was packed when teacher Ann Haddow and the Elphin Line Dancers presented a show on September 9.

Residents and staff of the Rand Aid Association retirement village and the care centre that is situated in its grounds, the Ron Smith Care Centre, came out to support, applaud and cheer on the 20-plus dancers who take line dancing classes from Ann once a week.

This year, the show group was supplemented by some dancers from the beginners’ class, which only started in April this year.

All the dancers put in many hours of hard work in preparation for the performance.

The show opened with Singing in the Rain and included dances to You are my Sunshine, Up on the Roof, Hello Dolly, Can’t tell a Waltz from a Tango and an Irish dance medley, among many others.
