Club competition hotly contested

Each year in August, the humorous and impromptu contests begin at each club and the winners go through to represent the club at the next competition level.

The Modderfontein Breakfast Club held its humorous and impromptu speech contest on August 22 and it was a hotly-contested competition.

Ms Sbusisiwe Nxumalo, one of Modderfontein’s rising stars, won the impromptu contest with her beautifully articulated speech on the topic

Impromptu speaking teaches a person to think on their feet and respond with confidence and this skill is vital for everyday life.

Ms Nxumalo has mastered this skill and it has helped her to grow and develop in her career as an attorney.

Mr Richard Armour was the runner-up in the impromptu contest and Mr Andrew McGill followed closely in third spot.

The humorous contest was of a high standard and the winner of this category was Mr Richard Armour.

The runner up was Mr Andrew McGill and third spot went to Ms Sbusisiwe Nxumalo.
