A man was arrested after allegedly raping his girlfriend’s 11-year-old daughter on Saturday, August 29.
It is believed the incident took place at the girl’s home in Hospital Street, Malvern.
The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the girl was sleeping on a couch when the man entered.
“Her mother’s boyfriend switched off the lights and allegedly raped her. When he was done, he switched the lights on again as though he had just entered the room. He asked her if there was anyone in the house. The girl did not answer him. She took her cellular phone and went outside. She called her mother who was inside the house, telling her what had just happened. One neighbour heard her and went to her,” said Const Mashakane.
The SAPS was contacted and the suspects was arrested.
