Ryan wins business competition

The competition involved submitting a business plan to make money during a live event.

Ryan Trickett, a grade 7 pupil at Reddam House, recently entered a Talk Radio 702 competition organised by Walk the Talk.

The competition involved submitting a business plan to make money during a live event.

He desperately wanted a gaming console and his parents told him he had to raise the money himself.

Ryan starting working on his idea and created a delicious granola bar and energy trail mix, complete with his own branding and packaging. He entered this into the competition.

He was entered under Reddam House Bedfordview and out of 15 finalists, he emerged as the overall winner.

He was dubbed, “Most amazing Money Show Kidpreneur”.

Ryan’s prize was R5 000 in cash – a portion of which he donated to the Reach for a Dream foundation.

As part of his prize, Ryan will spend a mentorship day with Famous Brands’ CEO, Mr Kevin Hedderwick.

One of the competition judges had this to say about Ryan’s stall: “He blew us away. His stall was up, and ready for business almost immediately on the day, and everything was very neatly packaged and organised. His presentation was seamless. Ryan was a worthy winner of this hotly-contested competition.”
