The 1st Bedfordview Scout Troop’s annual Dads and Lads event recently took place at the Wathaba Hiking Trail near Machadadorp on the Mpumalanga escarpment.
23 dads and lads were treated to spectacular scenery, rugged hiking and good friendship in the African bush.
Some of the braver scouts braved the crystal clear pools at the base of numerous waterfalls. Not even a raid by a local troop of vervet monkeys could dampen the spirits of the intrepid hikers.
The fast pace of modern life meant that the quality time spent together by the dads and lads made the expedition a real treat.
