SAPS arrests man on murder charge

The home owner was rushed to hospital but certified dead on arrival.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at a guest house after killing another man in Yeoville on Monday, August 10.

The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said on Monday, shortly after 2am, the man went to a house in South Street.

“An argument ensued between the suspect and the home owner. He stabbed the home owner several times in the upper body and then fled the scene. The home owner was rushed to hospital but certified dead on arrival,” said Const Malatji.

Following an investigation, the suspect was arrested at a guest house on Friday, August 14, shortly after 5pm.

According to Const Malatji, a knife believed to have been used in the stabbing, was found in the suspect’s possession.
