Jeppe hockey boys to represent SA

Jeppe High School for Boys is making its mark on the hockey field.

Three Jeppe boys, Keegan Smith, Jesse Martin and Chris Makaba, have been selected to represent South Africa.

Chris was selected for the U/18A team, Keegan will be playing in the U/16B team and Jesse will be in the U/18B team.

“I am happy to be selected. It is a huge achievement for me and I just hope I will do my best and make Jeppe boys proud,” said Chris.

“I was not expecting it but I am happy as we have been working hard to be the best,” said Jesse.

“I hope I can meet the standards of the other players and play well,” said Keegan.

The school’s director of sport is pleased with the boys being chosen.

“I am excited about the future of hockey at our school. I would like to congratulate these boys on their incredible achievement and encourage them not to rest. They should keep working to improve their game,” he said.
