The challenge for the organisation was to knit 67 blankets and hand them out to those in need.

Ms Chris Boyd, the 67 Edenvale blankets ambassador, said she was amazed by the amount of support they received.

“The response from the community thus far is absolutely amazing. Thank you for the donations, Edenvale is unbelievably supportive,” said Ms Boyd.

“It is in our hands to make a difference, everyone is welcome to support our movement,” said Ms Jen Cawood, a member of the organisation.

Ms Boyd also said the organisation is an ongoing movement that seeks to extend help to those in need all year round.

“We have distributed approximately 7 000 blankets to needy organisations. Even though Mandela Day and winter is almost over, we need to stock up for next year,” said Ms Boyd.
