ECPF and SAPS donate blankets for Mandela Day.

Community leaders give back to the community for Mandela Day.

The Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF) and the Edenvale SAPS joined forces and donated blankets to the Edenhaven Retirement Home residents.

The hand over took place on July 17.

“The ECPF and SAPS wants to give back to the community, especially to the senior citizens, because they are close to our hearts,” said Mrs Linda Mckenzie, the chairperson of the ECPF.

“The senior citizens have done so much in this community. Today it is our turn to give something back in return to say thank you,” she said.

Sergeant Ulandi Mouton said she is grateful they were able to do something for the senior citizens in the community.

“The SAPS, together with the CPF, thought that donating blankets in winter for Mandela Day would be greatly appreciated by the elderly in Edenhaven,” said Sgt Mouton.

Ms Val Lombaard, the administrator of Edenhaven, thanked the ECPF and SAPS for the contribution.

“The amount of support from the community is overwhelming. I am in total shock and we really appreciate all the donations,” she said.

Matron Anita Fourie also expressed her gratitude for the amount of effort the community made to help the organisation.

“Edenhaven is extremely blessed today. Thank you to everyone who has helped us,” she said.
