Rotarian Dymond takes the highest office in his club

Rotarian, Roger Dymond, was inducted as the president of the Rotary Club of Johannesburg East.

Retired engineer and veteran Rotarian, Roger Dymond, was inducted as the president of the Rotary Club of Johannesburg East.

Rotarian Dymond was inducted on Monday last week.

He joined Rotary in the early 1970s in the now KwaZulu-Natal.

He said being a Rotarian fulfilled him.

“It gives me certification. When I do something good for a fellow human being, I feel worthwhile. It makes a good man better,” he said.

He said he chose Rotary because it uses all the money it raise for it projects.

“There is no money for administration or cratering. Our office bearers are not paid. We pay for our own catering during our meetings. All the money we raise goes to the projects to help people all over the world,” he said.

He said people can help Rotary with its projects even if they are not members.

“Give your donations to our volunteers when you see them in the malls, or support our drives in different areas,” he said.

Donations can also be made by logging onto the Rotary International website, www.rotary.org or the local club website www.rotaryjohannesburg.co.za
