Three men were charged with possession of drugs in Yeoville on July 4, shortly after 7pm.
The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said officers were conducting a stop-and-search operation when the arrests were made.
“Our officers approached a group of men and searched them. Three of the men were found in possession of drugs. They were detained at the Yeoville Police Station.
“They will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon. This arrest has to send a message that drugs will not be tolerated here,” he said.
He urged the community to report any crime happening in the area.
“Please work with us as we are rooting out criminals,” said Const Malatji.
