Alleged explosion rocks Greenstone and surrounds

Residents reported hearing a loud explosion last night.

Details of what transpired have not been released but reports were received that residents in Sandton also heard the blast.

Ward 32 councillor, Clr Bongani Nkomo, reported feeling the explosion in Buccleuch.

Ms Leigh du Preez posted the following on the Greenstone Hill Community Facebook page, “Apparently there was an explosion at the explosives factory in Modderfontein. Their siren went off too.”
