Keeping fit shows support for children’s home

The team fundraised for The Johannesburg Children’s Home while getting healthy.

CrossFit B4C (Bodies for Christ) held a fundraising campaign for The Johannesburg Children’s Home recently.

Fiona Duke from the home said the campaign was held to raise awareness for the vulnerable and orphaned children in commemoration of Child Protection Month.

“The idea of the campaign was to sponsor each individual taking part that would be sponsored R10 per sit up, squat and or push-up within two minutes.

“Each competitor had a judge, who would then qualify the amount of reps done,” said Ms Fiona.

She said the amount raised would help the home immensely.

“The Johannesburg Children’s Home provides care and shelter for 64 children between the ages of three and 18 years. The children are placed in our care by the regional courts as they have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse or have been severely neglected or abandoned by their parents,” Ms Fiona said.
