The Edenvale SAPS arrested the manager of QBar in Stoneridge Shopping Centre and another man posing as a robber this morning.
This follows a report to the Edenvale SAPS of a business robbery in progress at the popular bar.
“When officers arrived at the scene, they found the alleged robber still on the premises,” acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts said.
He added that crime prevention officers suspected foul play and questioned the store’s manager.
“After reviewing all information as well as CCTV footage, officers arrested the man who committed the robbery as well as the manager at the bar,” Lt Col Roberts said.
Through investigations officers were able to determine that the manager had set up the robbery.
Money was recovered from the alleged robber as well as from the manager.
Both were charged with perjury and taken to the Edenvale Police Station.
