Talita brings the beauty of hope

A businesswoman, product developer and owner of her own clothing label, she still finds the time to give back to the community.

Johannesburg beauty, Talita Jansen van Vuuren, is more than just a beautiful face and tiaras.

Talita, recently crowned Mrs South Africa Charity, defines the modern-day woman and still manages to be humble.

The title is partnered with the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa), with the national office situated in Bedfordview.

A businesswoman, product developer and owner of her own clothing label, she still finds the time to give back to the community.

“There are two principles in life which I strive to perfect. Firstly, you need to serve before you can lead. Secondly it’s the beautiful imperfection in life that can change the world into a more beautiful tomorrow,” said Talita.

As Mrs South Africa Charity, Talita assists Cansa in creating awareness and raising funds for Cansa.

Talita’s title provides her with the opportunity to do what she loves, which is giving back to society. She also supports other charities.

“Since my reign, I have been able to approach entrepreneurs and business specialists in the industry to be part of this awareness campaign. If all the privileged people can come together and do good for the less fortunate, South Africa would be a better place,” said Talita.

Every year Mrs South Africa hosts an annual Cansa Gala Dinner as a way to raise funds and Talita has worked extra hard to make sure the event was a success.

She raised over R40 000 for the organisation.

On top of the funds raised at the gala event, Talita also developed a two-piece mug set and sold it to retail markets. 15 percent of the sales will go back to Cansa’s coffers.

Since entering Mrs South Africa in 2014, Talita has managed to raised over R60 000 for Cansa to date.

“I am a brand ambassador for Cansa and will always educate and support South Africans in the fight against cancer,” said Talita.

She said her reign has helped her to touch lives and educate those affected and suffering from cancer.

She vowed to continue doing good through her business even after her reign.
