The Sector 3 precinct of the Bedfordview SAPS policing area has a new manager.
With effect from Monday, June 8, Constable Aidan Billings took over the reigns from Warrant Officer Thabakgolo Diale.
According to the Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, WO Diale was redeployed to another department within the station.
Const Billings joined the police service nearly 10 years ago and has worked in Vispol for many of those years.
“For six years, I worked in the Gauteng Flying Squad. I also worked with the Sophiatown Police Station’s Vispol Unit,” he said.
Prior to joining the Bedfordview SAPS, Const Billings was also part of the Rapid Response team within the Robbery Reaction Unit.
He said he is looking forward to engaging with community members and building stronger relationships in the fight against crime.
Const Billings has a National Diploma in Policing and loves to read.
“I read a lot, but not fiction. I am still studying further,” he said.
Const Billings is married and a father to an 18-month-old baby girl.
