"It was extremely hot but I grabbed pipes and helped where I could."
Numerous vehicles were damaged with numerous fire stations responding to a fire at Kovel Motors this afternoon.
“The paint booth inside the premises had allegedly exploded. I work at Central Build It. As soon as I saw smoke, I ran to help. I was inside and saw that two cars were still on fire,” said Jacque le Roux Central Build It.
“It was extremely hot but I grabbed pipes and helped where I could,” Mr Le Roux.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread.
No major injuries have been reported. A woman was transported to hospital for smoke inhalation. The community members stood by as the cars not damaged in the fire were removed from the premises.
The actual cause of the fire is to be confirmed until further investigations have been conducted.
