Teachers run for a good cause

The donations are earmarked for the purchase of mobile testing units.

Teachers from Reddam House proved that being a teacher doesn’t mean you only teach.

Bedfordview teachers, Ryan Habib, Philip Joubert and Brenda Kahl, decided to run for charity.

They ran the 90th Comrades Marathon and in the process also raised R17 340 for the Pink Drive, a breast cancer education NGO.

They managed to raised this with the help of teachers and parents.

The donations are earmarked for the purchase of mobile testing units.

Ryan Habib finished the marathon in 9 hours 27 minutes, while Brenda Kahl crossed the finish line in 11 hours and 41 minutes.

The top runner of the trio Philip Joubert chalked up a time of 8 hours 57 minutes.

He also received the Bill Rowan medal for finishing the marathon in under nine hours.
