Duenna Mambana, the Bedfordview journalist who is on the scene of the bomb scare at Eastgate Shopping Centre, said most people have been evacuated.
“They are still moving all the elderly people and pregnant women out the centre,” said Duenna.
“An email was received at about 4pm stating there are bombs at all the entrances. The email stated the bombs will go off in about two hours. SAPS are currently following up on strong leads,” said Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi.
Members of the bomb squad are still inside the centre.
