Breakfast club celebrates Mothers’ Day

The Anneliese Breakfast Club (ABC) hosted its monthly breakfast event last Thursday.

According to the founder, Mrs Anneliese Plettenbacher, over 30 women attended this month’s event, which was held to celebrate Mothers’ Day.

The event was held at Bedfordview’s Mercure Hotel and was attended by woman from in and around the area.

The day’s keynote speaker was Ms Tania Sutherland, who spoke about the topic, ‘Nothing changes until you change’.

She encouraged the women to take care of themselves.

“We are mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. I find that in most cases we put everyone else first and forget to care for ourselves. It is important to make time for yourself to identify who you are and what you want in life,” she added.

Ms Sutherland reminded the women that happiness comes as a result of one’s actions.

She said, “Don’t be too busy that you neglect your own soul. Whatever your past experiences may be, you still have time to change, time to meet someone new and time to still go on that holiday you’ve always wanted.”

Members attending the event brought baby jumpers and blankets.

“The items will be distributed to various institutions, including the Edenvale Hospital and Little Eden,” said Mrs Plettenbacher.

The club’s next meeting is scheduled for June 11, when the women will celebrate Father’s Day. A fashion show will also take place on the day.
