The Yeoville SAPS communication officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said Ncube stabbed his girlfriend several times and also cut her nose on July 22, 2014.
“As he was trying to run away, the community alerted the police. He was then arrested. On May 7 this year, he was sentenced at the North Gauteng High Court sitting in Palm Ridge. Anyone who wants to commit such a crime must know that there is the possibility that he or she might spend the rest of their life in prison. If, as a couple, you have problems, please try to find other ways to solve them,” said Const Malatji.
He commended the community in the role it played in the matter.
“I am grateful the community did not try to take the law into their own hands. They called the police. The culprit has now been sentenced and no other person been arrested for killing him. Let the community and the police work together to fight crime,” said Const Malatji.
