This call comes after the death of a motorist in Ekurhuleni recently.
The EMPD’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, said a motorist was shot dead in a road rage incident in Bonaero Park.
The victim was a 54-year-old man who died following a confrontation with another motorist.
The victim was allegedly shot in the face after confronting another driver for skipping a stop street.
The shooter is now behind bars and investigations are proceeding,
Since the incident, the EMPD urged motorists to avoid road rage incidents.
A leading insurance company said it is important to take measures that will help you avoid road rage, for instance; giving right of way to impatient drivers and keeping calm to escape any form of violence. Moreover, keeping individual behaviour in check will decrease any unnecessary outbursts.
All motorists are encouraged to focus on their own driving and to not react to other drivers in an aggressive manner.
