Const Malajti said the men went to a property at the corner of Hurley Street and Grafton Road.

Nine men will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court today, following a robbery at a Heldeburg cellular phone store on Friday.

The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the SAPS received information that the suspects who had just robbed a store in Heldeburg were on their way to Yeoville.

According to the information received, the suspects were on their way to Yeoville to store the stolen items. The suspects, aged between 23 and 55, also intended to plan how to distribute the loot.

Const Malajti said the men went to a property at the corner of Hurley Street and Grafton Road.

“The SAPS pounced as the suspects were off-loading their loot from two cars. Two AK47 rifles, five pistols and stolen cellular phones were recovered,” said Const Malatji.

The men will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court for bail applications.

Const Malatji said the men have not yet been linked to any other crimes.

“We are still busy profiling them. We hope to link them to other cases,” he said.
