Killers hunted by SAPS

"Eyewitnesses, or anyone who may have information that will bring the killer(s) to book, are urged to come forward. The information will be dealt with in the strictest of confidentiality," he added.

Following the murder of a 39-year-old Kensington father in Bedfordview last Wednesday night, the SAPS has vowed to leave no stone unturned until his murderers are brought to book.

The victim is the father of two small children.

The spokesperson for the Bedfordview SAPS, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, urged anyone with information about the murder to contact the police.

“Eyewitnesses, or anyone who may have information that will bring the killer(s) to book, are urged to come forward. The information will be dealt with in the strictest of confidentiality,” he added.

Sgt Nhlabathi labelled the incident as shocking.

The man, identified as Mr M Hatter, was allegedly gunned down at the corner of Abroath and Concorde roads. He had four bullet wounds and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

According to Sgt Nhlabathi, he was found facing up with a firearm in his right hand.

“While checking the scene, officers also found 15 spent cartridges, a damaged phone, an inside the waist holster, a driver’s license and a bank card,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.

A woman, whose husband allegedly knew the victim, said she was saddened for his family.

“No one deserves to be murdered in cold blood the way he was killed. We can only hope the SAPS will find the perpetrators,” she told the NEWS.

According to Sgt Nhlabathi, the man, a Jordan national, ran a tobacco company in Menlyn, Pretoria.

SAPS members are investigating a case of murder and are following all possible leads to arrest those responsible.

Anyone with information can contact the Bedfordview SAPS on 011 457-2299.
