Seven men were arrested and two AK47 rifles were recovered a short while ago in Yeoville.
Police officers also recovered a number of stolen cellular phones.
The arrests took place on Harley Street.
A source close to the investigation said that SAPS officers received information that the men had robbed a cellular phone store in Heildeburg.
The men were traced to Yeoville.
“On arrival police found two AK47 rifles and the cellular phones believed to have been looted from the store. Seven men were arrested on the scene,” said the source.
Police are still busy at the scene.
