Rory excels at Oasis Toastmasters contest
Mr Rory Strachan of Alberton, first joined Oasis Toastmasters in 2004, and has been a member and a part of the executive committee over the years.
The Oasis Toastmasters recently held its International English Prepared Speech Contest and its Evaluation Contest at the Italian Club Johannesburg in Bedfordview.
A total of 10 contestants took part in the event.
Mr Rory Strachan, of Alberton, first joined the Oasis Toastmasters in 2004, and has been a member and a part of the executive committee over the years.
He walked away from the contest as the winner of both competitions.
The next level of the competition is the Area I4 Contest, which will take place on May 6.
Mr Strachan will represent Oasis Toastmasters on the evening.
Toastmasters clubs provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
The public is invited to visit a meeting and learn more about what Toastmasters has to offer.
The Oasis Toastmasters Club meets at the Italian Club Johannesburg, at 7 Marais Road, just off Boeing Road in Bedfordview, on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6.30pm for 7pm.
