Resident tied up, robbed

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the woman heard a knock at her door. When she went to the door, she did not see anyone.

A 78-year-old woman was tied up with two belts during a house robbery on Queen Street in Kensington on April 12, shortly after 9am.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the woman heard a knock at her door. When she went to the door, she did not see anyone.

“The woman then continued drinking her tea, which she was having outside in the yard, next to the kitchen. It was then that two men approached her and threatened to kill her. They forced the victim into the house and tied her up with two of her belts,” said Const Mashakane.

She said the suspects ransacked the house, taking the woman’s cellular phone and cash.
