Business robbery suspects caught

The Jeppe SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi, could not confirm if the robberies were related to xenophobia.

The Jeppe SAPS arrested six men for business robbery and possession of suspected stolen goods on April 16.

“We improved our visibility in our precinct following the rumours of xenophobic attacks, which started on Wednesday. As our members were patrolling Jules Street last night, they were alerted to a business robbery on Jules Street.

“Two men were arrested after they robbed a shop owner. The other four were found in possession of the goods believed to have been stolen from the same shop,” said W/O Munyayi.
