An escort agency operating in Illiondale was issued with a contravention notice this afternoon.
“It appears the property is being used as a brothel. In terms of the town planning scheme, there is contravention that is taking place, I will be issuing a contravention notice immediately,” a town planning official stated in correspondence with ward 18 councillor for Edenvale, Clr Heather Hart.
She said the notice will be applicable for a 28-day period.
“Then they (the escort agency) gets a second notice. Then the matter goes to court. In the meantime the SAPS and EMPD should naturally be keeping an eye on the place for people coming and going,” Clr Hart said.
