The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 21-year-old man for rape.

The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 21-year-old man for rape.

A woman (19) claimed she was at Ngubane’s Tavern on Saturday, April 4, when a man called her. She refused to speak to the man.

According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, from the Jeppe SAPS, the woman then went outside to answer a phone call and the same man followed her.

The man accused her of killing his brother with her boyfriend, known as Rasta.

The man allegedly threatened to stab the woman with a knife. He then took the woman to his house where three other men were waiting inside.

W/O Munyai said the woman alleges that she was instructed to undress. The suspect, together with two of the men in the house, raped her. The third man refused to take part.

During the night, while the suspects were asleep, the man who refused to rape her opened the door for her and told her to escape.

The victim reported the matter to the SAPS and one of the suspects was arrested. The other two suspects are still on the run.

The suspect arrested will appear in court soon and police investigations are continuing.
