The Jeppe SAPS arrested two suspects aged 23 and 27 for robbery and kidnapping.

On April 05, at about 11pm, a 23-year-old woman claimed she was at Bovard’s Pub in Bez Valley with her three friends when she noticed two unknown men looking at her.

She went to the toilet and when she came back the men approached her and demanded money. When she said she had no money, they started to assault her.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyai said the woman alleged that the men searched her and took about R340 in cash and a cellular phone. They then pulled her outside the pub where they forcefully pushed her inside her boyfriend’s car.

W/O Munyai said the boyfriend threatened to stab the woman with a screwdriver and drove to Germiston with the victim still in the car.

When they arrived at his room, he allegedly instructed her to undress. The suspect also undressed but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

According to W/O Munyai, it was the police at the door who subsequently arrested the suspect and took him to the Jeppe SAPS.

The suspect is expected to appear in court soon and police investigations are continuing.
