HIRSCH’S and Caxton – Taking the load off load shedding

Without a surge protector, it only takes one power surge or spike and your expensive electronics could become useless.

How many of us use solar power for businesses and at home?

The Hirsch’s and Caxton monthly networking session, covered the topical subject of solar energy and how to deal with load shedding with Mr Gary Gillingham, product specialist for Electrical Lighting, Ellies addressing guests and putting forward some important energy saving tips on solar power generation, inverters, support systems, LED revolution and surge protectors.

Why do you need high tech surge protection during load shedding and power cuts?

“Do you have your PC, television, or other expensive electronics plugged directly into a power outlet?

“Without a surge protector, it only takes one power surge or spike and your expensive electronics could become useless. If you live in an area prone to thunderstorms, the electrical appliances in your home are more likely to experience power surges.

“Load shedding plays a huge part in our lives. If the power goes out at home while you are at work, your appliances are likely to be damaged when the power comes back on. This is why we encourage utilisation of surge protectors, for the safety of your appliances,” said Mr Gillingham.
