Disabled kitten captures hearts in Edenvale

Disabled kitten Jasper Lilly gets a second chance.

At only a few months old, Jasper Lilly, has shown he is a fighter with the heart of a lion.

Jasper Lilly, a kitten who has four deformed legs, was found abandoned at a complex in Kempton Park by Edenvale resident, Daryl Sogot.

“At the time we thought it was a girl and named her Lilly. The kitten was so small,” Daryl said.

Lilly was taken to the vet where she underwent a series of tests.

“We discovered our Lily was a boy and so we named him Jasper Lily. He is not in any pain and gets around just fine. He has adapted to his disability perfectly,” Daryl said.

Once Jasper Lilly is a bit older, he will be given a custom-made wheelchair.

He is also undergoing therapy which is hoped will help with mobility in his back and front legs.

“He has joined our family of 11 rescue dogs and seven rescue cats. Sometimes people will sell their homes and move out, simply leaving their pets behind,” Daryl said.
