CAER welcomes new members

Andre Carr, of Lakeside Village in Modderfontein, and Elizabeth Chambers representing Linbro Park, attended their last official meeting in November last year.

Modderfontein Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER) has appointed two new members to replace retired members.

Andre Carr, of Lakeside Village in Modderfontein, and Elizabeth Chambers representing Linbro Park, attended their last official meeting in November last year.

Both had served many years on the committee. They have been replaced by Ms Margie Pretorius (Lakeside) and Ms Jenny Rose (Linbro) who will now take care of any concerns residents in their areas may have regarding activities in the Modderfontein Industrial Complex.

The establishment of the Modderfontein CAER committee was a direct result of AECI’s subscribing to the ‘Responsible Care Initiative’, which was first launched in Canada in 1985. It was introduced in South Africa by the Chemical and Allied Industries Association early in 1995.

The rest of the community representatives on the CAER committee are:
