Attempted murder suspects still at large

The Jeppe SAPS is appealing to residents for information about an attempted murder which took place on October 12 last year.

According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, a man was shot in the legs while he was walking in block 1 at the Jeppe Hostel.

The victim was approached by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.

The victim claimed the man began shooting at him. He was struck twice and fell down. The suspect attempted to shoot the victim a third time but missed, hitting another man who was passing by.

It is believed some of the residents at the hostel begged the suspect to stop shooting. The suspect then walked away from the scene.

W/O Munyai said investigations revealed that the suspects were also allegedly involved in another shooting at block 4 and 5, during a traditional ceremony.

The suspects are still unknown.

Anyone who can identify the man in the identi-kit can contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Malawane Masha, on 082 486 8318 or 011 624-6093.
