EMM repairs traffic lights

He responded with photographs of the repair work conducted.

Wires left exposed in traffic lights at the intersection of Brabazon and Driefontein roads were repaired last week by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM).

This follows a submission of photographs to the NEWS by Mr Kesigan Padayachee.

The NEWS forwarded the photographs to the spokesperson for the EMM, Mr Themba Gadebe, for comment.

He responded with photographs of the repair work conducted.

Another concern raised by Mr Padayachee was that the turning arrows at the intersection were faulty, which caused traffic problems during peak hours.

Mr Gadebe said that the signal arrows were investigated and found to be working properly.

“The lights are, however, dim and as such we have requested that a contractor upgrade the lights.
