Suspect arrested for house robbery

She let the suspects inside the house and they started shouting at her. One of the men physically assaulted her.

The SAPS arrested a 42-year-old man for a house robbery that took place on February 26 in 1st Street, Bez Valley.

According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the victim claimed that at about 2pm she heard a knock at her door.

When she opened it, she saw two unknown men who asked her where her husband was.

She let the suspects inside the house and they started shouting at her. One of the men physically assaulted her.

W/O Munyai said the other man took the victim’s handbag, which contained cash. While they were still inside the house, the victim’s husband arrived.

One of the suspects managed to run out and jumped the wall. He escaped with the stolen money.

W/O Munyai said the other suspect who remained behind, started to fight with the victim’s husband. The suspect was overpowered and taken to the police station.

The suspect was arrested and charged with house robbery.

He will appear in court soon and police investigations are continuing.
