During a recent operation between the Edenvale SAPS and members of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD), 21 motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
“Some of those arrested were far over the legal limit,” said the acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts.
He added that motorists who drive under the influence of alcohol are knowingly endangering the lives of others.
In addition, the Edenvale SAPS together with the help of the Johannesburg Dog Unit, arrested 21 people in Edenvale for being in possession of drugs.
“One man was caught with a kilogramme of dagga and another man was caught with five kilogrammes of drugs,” said Lt Col Roberts.
