A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted after being confronted by an armed suspect on February 16.
According to Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, from the Bedfordview SAPS, the victim was approached my an unknown man while getting into a taxi.
The suspect produced a firearm and instructed the woman to board the taxi.
When she and the suspect exited the taxi, at the corner of Bradford and Nicol roads, the man led to woman to his car.
The suspect drove around with the victim for some time before sexually assaulting her.
The suspect also allegedly stole the victim’s cellular phone, cash and bank cards before fleeing the scene.
The victim was dropped off in Morninghill.
According to Sgt Nhlabathi, the suspect was driving a white vehicle but the registration is unknown.
