Pupils mourn murdered classmate

The Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (BCPF) has called on members of the public to financially assist with the burial of a six-year-old girl who was allegedly poisoned by her mother.

The Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (BCPF) has called on members of the public to financially assist with the burial of a six-year-old girl who was allegedly poisoned by her mother.

According to the BCPF chairperson, Mr Gavin Henry, the call is a desperate request from the Bedfordvew SAPS via the BCPF.

The girl attended Klopper Park Primary School. Her mother has since been arrested and charged with murder.

“The request is for any financial assistance for the family to bury the little girl. If you can find it in your heart to help, please contact the BCPF office urgently,” said Mr Henry.

In a message to parents, the school said it had done its best to remove the child, a grade 1 pupil, from her mother’s care.

“But you will understand that the law has delays and here we are today, crying,” read the note from the school.

The school confirmed that a memorial service would be held for the pupil, but would not disclose any details.

The Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, confirmed that a case had been opened, but added that more details would follow.

The BCPF office can be contacted on 011 450 4376.
