It is believed the victim gave the couple, who was homeless, a place to stay. The couple then stole four tyres belonging to the victim.
Constable Thabo Malatji, from the Yeoville SAPS, said the victim enquired about the tyres and then discovered that the couple was no longer at the house.
The victim went to the SAPS and opened a charge of theft against the couple.
On Friday, at about 9pm, the victim saw the couple in Yeoville and notified the police.
Const Malatji said the couple was arrested for theft.
The pair will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
