Writers 2000 to host renowned producer

Writer 2000 will host renowned South African producer, director and scriptwriter Clive Morris, at its first meeting of the year on January 31.

The meeting will be held at the Inyoni Creek Clubhouse at the Rand Aid Complex at the corner of Wordsworth and Modderfontein roads in Lyndhurst.

Morris shot to fame when he first wrote and directed Maid in South Africa, which was an Amstel winner in 1986.

He then wrote and directed Velaphi, The Messenger, which won an Artes Award.

Morris never looked back; he expanded his career to scriptwriting, stage and screen direction, and production.

As a writer, director and producer, Morris has worked on a range of productions including sitcoms, drama series, documentaries, talk shows and reality television.

This includes working on Carte Blanche for 14 years, Backstage, Scandal, Jozi Streets, Front Row, Angel’s Song, Alan Paton’s Beloved Country, Let’s Chat and numerous other productions.

Visitors are welcome to join regular members for what promises to be an entertaining and informative afternoon.

There is a R10 entrance fee, tea, coffee and refreshments will also be on offer.
