Children injured in Modderfontein Road crash
Various emergency services responded to the scene.
Four children were injured when two vehicles collided on Modderfontein Road on Sunday, January 11.
According to the operations director for Mamba Strike Force, Mr Kevin Norman, a one-year-old child sustained critical injuries.
“It is believed the child was sitting on his father’s lap in the front passenger seat, at the time of the accident,” said Mr Norman.
Various emergency services responded to the scene.
“A two-year-old girl was treated on-scene for an open wound to her leg, a seven-year-old boy sustained injuries to his face and a 10-year-old was treated for a head wound,” said Mr Norman.
The driver of one of the vehicles was also treated for serious injuries.
Four more patients were treated for moderate injuries before they were transported to various hospitals.
The cause of the accident will form part of a police investigation.
