Victim robbed, threatened to drop case

The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 24-year-old man for armed robbery on January 12.

The victim claims to have visited a friend in Kimberly Road, Bertrams, to collect money owed to him.

The victim was allegedly given R8 000.

According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi, from the Jeppe SAPS, when the men left his friend’s house he was followed by five men.

The suspects threatened the victim with a knife and took the money. The suspects also allegedly warned the victim to drop a case which he had opened against his friend at the Bedfordview SAPS.

The suspects said they would kill him if he did not.

The victim subsequently opened a case at the Jeppe SAPS and one suspect was arrested.

The suspect will appear in court soon and the SAPS is still searching for the other suspects.
