UPDATE: Park Meadows and Linksfield shootings linked

Two incidents where hijackers opened fire on officers from the SAPS are linked.

According to information received, three men driving a hijacked vehicle were stopped at the Park Meadows Shopping Centre, opposite the Eastgate Shopping Centre.

One of the men was arrested while two others fled in the hijacked vehicle.

The two men were followed by officers from the SAPS.

At the intersection of Linksfield Road and Club Street, the two men hijacked another vehicle, which has been recovered in Alexandra.

While fleeing, the two men again opened fire on SAPS officers.
