Poster Busters clean up

A host of the posters belong to property, auction companies and painters, advertising their trade.

The Edenvale Poster Busters took to the streets for the last clean-up of the year on Saturday, November 15.

On the day, members were led by the ward 18 councillor, Clr Heather Hart, to removed illegal posters from street poles, street bins and mini-stations in the Avenues and on the main roads including Van Riebeek Avenue and Palliser Road.

A host of the posters belong to property, auction companies and painters, advertising their trade.

Advertisers are required, as per the municipal by-laws, to seek authorisation from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM), before erecting a poster or bill board.

Ward 18 committee member Ms Sharon Lendrum-Frittelli said they have made great strides in keeping Edenvale clean.

“We cannot leave these posters to pollute our area, we will continue to clean up. But those who keep on putting up these posters must be held to account for their actions,” she said.
