Library’s holiday programme a hit

The Murray Park Library hosted its holiday programme at the library on December 12.

Ms Edith Khuzwayo, who works at the library, said every holiday they invite pre-schools and children from the community to come and participate in the programme.

“We normally run holiday programmes every term when the schools are closed. We run the events the following Wednesday after the schools have closed, from 10am to 12pm,” she added.

Ms Khuzwayo urged the community to take advantage of the services provided by the library, as she feels many residents no longer use the library as often as one should.

During the holiday programme, children performed a play about Father Christmas.

“The plays are always focused on the hoilday being celebrated. If it is Easter, then the theme of the play is about Easter. If the play is in September, then the play will be focussed on spring,” said Ms Khuzwayo.
