Weekend carnage on the roads

On Friday evening another crash resulted in a two lane closure of the R24 west bound. One patient was transported to hospital.

With many residents already on leave, this past weekend saw several crashes take place on the roads surrounding Bedfordview and Edenvale.

On Friday traffic was affected on the N3 north bound following a crash in the fast lane.

On the same day another crash caused delays between Edenvale and Van Buuren Road.

On Friday evening a third crash resulted in a two lane closure of the R24 west bound. One patient was transported to hospital.

On Saturday night emergency services responded to a motorbike crash on the R24 at OR Tambo International Airport.

Two patients, one in serious condition, were transported to hospital.

In the early hours of Sunday morning a crash occurred on the N3 north near the Linksfield off-ramp.

Two patients were transported to hospital.

It is believed that while emergency services attended to the scene another crash occurred in the backed up traffic.
