Police nab suspects with two AK47 rifles

They questioned him and he then took the officers to one of the rooms inside the lodge.

Jeppe SAPS officers were patrolling Bez Valley on Friday morning, November 28, when they received information about a suspect wanted in connection with a case in Zakheni, Kwazulu-Natal.

The officers proceeded to the given address at a lodge, where they found the suspect in the reception area.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi said upon searching the suspect, the officers found a 9mm black Norinco pistol with 12 rounds in his possession.

They questioned him and he then took the officers to one of the rooms inside the lodge.

The officers found another man busy polishing an AK47 with 29 live rounds.

The two suspects then took the police to a Mercedes Benz C350, which was parked inside the lodge.

Another AK47 with 13 live rounds was found in the car.

Warrant Officer Munyayi said the police circulated the car’s number plate and discovered that it was reported as hijacked in Mabopape, Pretoria.

The suspects are aged between 32 and 26 are have been linked to murders in taxi violence in Kwazulu-Natal. They were also connected to Boksburg taxi violence and another murder case registered at the Jeppe SAPS. The suspects were arrested and detained.
