Men armed with an axe, a knife and a gun rob resident

Three men, armed with an axe, knife and a firearm, robbed a man as he was leaving his home on St Frances Queen Street in Malvern after 5am on Thursday.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the victim was opening the gate when he was approached by three men.

“The three men were armed. One had a firearm, another had a knife and the third suspect had had an axe. The suspects forced the man back into the house. They tied him up with cable ties and also tied up his mother, who was in the house. The mother was tied up with electrical cord,” said Const Mashakane.

She added that the men took an undisclosed amount of money and a digital camera before fleeing the scene.
